Why People Don’t become financially free?

Why is it that most people don’t  become financially free?”

Today with the opportunities that we have, why is it that so few people retire financially independent?

Due to the following reasons, people don’t become financially free.

1 People don’t define their enough

The first reason that people don’t become financially free is that unless they define their enough, they will never be financially free. People have lots of money but they still think of making money because they have not defined their enough.

If people don’t work out of a need for money but for joy only, then they are financially free. Billionaires don’t work for money but for joy only.

When work is a pleasure, life is a joy! When work is a duty, life is slavery.— Maxim Gorky

2 They never think of wealth

The second reason is that they never think of it even in their dreams.

The average person grows up in a family where he never sees wealth or knows anyone who is financially free.  In his school and society, he socializes with people who are not financially free. He works with people who are like him, not financially free. He has role models who are wealthy but he does not think himself like them. He is conditioned up to an age of twelve like this and his beliefs totally become stunted. When he becomes a fully mature adult in our society, it never even occurs to him that it’s just as possible for him to become financially free as for anyone else.

On the contrary, we see that people who grow up in homes where their parents are financially free are much more likely to become wealthy as adults than people who grew up in homes where their parents are not.

So the most important reason why people don’t become financially free is they never think about it that it is possible for them.  And of course, if they don’t think to become financially free then they never take any of the steps necessary to make it a reality.

3 Make A Decision

The third reason that people don’t become financially free is that they never make a decision to become one

Even when a person reads a book, attends a lecture, or associates with people who are financially free, nothing changes until he makes a decision to do something different. Even if it occurs to a person that he could become wealthy if he just did certain things in a specific way, his family and peers don’t let him do the things he wants to do for becoming wealthy. Therefore he finds him indecisive to take the first step, he ends up staying as he is.

If you continue to do what you’ve always done, you’ll continue to get what you’ve always got.

The primary reason for underachievement and failure is that the majority of people don’t decide to be successful and financially free. They never make a firm, unequivocal commitment or definite decision that they are going to become financially free.  They  wish and hope and pray that they will make a lot of money, if providence helped them or if fate favored them but they never decide clearly, “I am going to do it!” This decision alone is an essential first step to becoming financially free.

4 They procrastinate

The fourth reason that people don’t become wealthy is procrastination.

People always have a good reason rather an excuse not to begin something that they know they need to do to achieve their financial freedom.  It is always the wrong time for them.   The market isn’t right for them. They may have to take a risk or give up their security but they never and keep on saying, “Maybe next year, ” “someday.”

There always is a reason to procrastinate. As a result, they keep putting it off, month after month, year after year, until it’s too late.  Even if it has occurred to a person that they can become financially free, and they have made a decision to change, procrastination kills all their plans and their future becomes indefinite. After becoming too late for this they start giving an excuse of mid-life crisis.

5 Freedom is not free

The fifth reason that people remain poor because they can’t practice a habit of saving, and pay now enjoy later theory.

Most people live from paycheck to paycheck and they have habits of spending more than they earn. They avail all credit available to them from banks and credit cards. The majority of people have an irresistible temptation to spend every single penny they make and whatever else they can borrow or buy on credit.  If you don’t save for tomorrow, cannot delay gratification and spend all you make you can never become financially free. If you cannot practice saving, budgeting as a lifelong habit, it will be impossible for you to achieve financial independence.

As W. Clement Stone said, “If you cannot save money, the seeds of greatness are not in you.”

If you want success, ‘Don’t be unapologetic about your ambitions’

When you have designed your dreams and are ready to work for your dreams you get very enthusiastic and you start sharing your dream with everybody you meet in your friend circle, relations and others. You should actually not disclose your dream to anybody. Why? It loses energy. People start reacting and their comments affect you. However, if you already have, then don’t be apologetic to it.

Now it is better for you to work on your dream silently and let your success alone make the noise. Naysayers will also try to deflate your dreams. Don’t let anybody steal your dreams. Eat it, sleep it, drink it, get obsessed with it, the more you focus on it your dream expands.

Your burning desire should be so intense that the question of whether it will happen or not changes to when it will happen. End that uncertainty whether it will happen or not. Only those dreams become a reality which are full of burning desire. Visualize it, live in the eyes of your mind like a pregnant would-be mother, visualizes her child in the actual world. She starts knitting gloves, socks, head cap for her little child even before he comes in this world. She buys cribs and other paraphernalia for her coming child. She doesn’t have even an iota of doubt in her mind about her dream of becoming a reality.

Then why people have doubt about your dreams not becoming a reality. It is because they have not decided finally about realizing their dreams.

Your dreams were included in your ticket to this life.

Once a passenger boarded a sea liner for a long journey of 6 days. He didn’t have enough money to buy the ticket with food. So he thought that he will buy the ticket without food charges and buy some peanuts from outside to save the money. So he bought some peanuts from the market as his food for the 6 days and after buying the ticket at the port boarded the sea liner carrying peanuts packets stealthily with him so that people or Captain may not see them. He went straight to his cabin and, during his journey, hardly came out for anything except two-three times at night.

When the sea liner reached the destination he tried to escape quickly out of the liner but the captain was standing at the gate to bid farewell to all passengers. So the captain accosted him, “Goodbye, do come again. By the way, where were you, I didn’t see you aboard for all the six days. Not even in the dining hall.” The passenger sheepishly told him that he didn’t have enough money for buying food on the sea liner and for the sake of saving money he had brought peanuts with him and so he didn’t go to the dining hall for all the six days. The captain laughed and told him,” You should have talked to me at least once, I would have told you that the dining charges were included in the price of the ticket”.

Robert Schuller says that dreams come from heaven. So your dream is God-given to you and it was meant for you only. You took birth with the dream included in your life. So it is your own thing. You have already paid for it. Won’t you like to avail the facility which you have already paid for? You should claim it like your birthright otherwise you will have to repent like the person in the sea liner.

You are on a journey on this sea liner(your life here is like a guest in this world).

Why you want to live your life with peanuts(mediocrity, despair)

when you have paid for gourmet foods(dream included with this life).

Just come out of your cabin(conformity box thinking) and

ask the captain about food( learn from successful people about how to succeed),

Take(self serve) your gourmet food in the plates(take action for realizing your dream) and

have your gourmet food(fruits of success)

on the sea liner(in the world).

Above is your story, in short,  on this planet.

Have faith in your creator and start working for your dream today only.

Victor Frankl, an Austrian neurologist, and psychiatrist as well as a survivor of Theresienstadt, Auschwitz, Kaufering and Türkheim; Nazi concentration camps, has said,

“Everyone has his own specific vocation or mission in life… Therein he cannot be replaced, nor can his life be repeated. Thus, everyone’s task is as unique as is his specific opportunity to implement it .”

Decide today, what is your dream, and work on it to realize it before you are handed over your return ticket to your creator.

Make Good Choices in life

hat do you want  to become when you grow up?” It’s an age-old question that everybody is asked early in life. Whenever some guest comes he asks this question every kid. What some fail to realize is how much power you have in determining your future and in making your dreams a reality? The fact is, everything you do, the achievements you realize, and the person you become can all be traced back to one thing…choice. Make your choices carefully — for they will become your destiny

Og Mandino in his book “Choice” says,

“When we were given dominion over the world, we were also given dominion over ourselves. God is not our navigator. It was never his intention to chart a course for each of us and thus place us all under His bondage. Instead, He bestowed each of us with intellect and talent and vision to map our own way, to write our own Book of Life in any manner that we choose.

Choice! The key is choice. You have options. You need not spend your life wallowing your failure, ignorance, grief, poverty, shame, and self-pity. But, hold on! If this is true, then why have so many among us apparently elected to live in that manner? Who would be fool enough to choose failure over success, ignorance over knowledge, poverty over wealth? No one! So how do we explain that vast multitude of humanity that continues to exist in hopeless mediocrity, unfulfilled, frustrated, envious, drained of confidence and self-esteem, unable to meet even their daily obligations and sad- so sad that each new day produces no fresh seedling of hope, only more weeds of despair from showers of tears?

The answer is simple and obvious.

Those who live in unhappy failure have never exercised their options for the better things of life because they have never been aware that they had many choices! Life to them has never been a game of skill where study, hard work, courage, and perseverance can be brought into play to turn failure into success, misery into happiness.!”

Every one of us awakes each morning with dread in our heart. To face the monotony of yet another day with its ceaseless toil and pressure for so little reward is agony. We bathe, we put on our costume and reluctantly force ourselves to crawl from our cocoon to confront a world we imagine is ready to devour us or trample us underfoot.

Each day repeats the drudgery of the last, except that the hours seem to grow painfully longer as the years pass. The body is weary. The mind is numb. The obligations increase. The future is dim. Finally, the day ends. Blessed sleep. Oblivion. And then the sun rises again.

All Choices Are not Created Equal

Next time you forget that you’re the captain of your ship, think about the choices that you make every day and the impact they have on your life. For example, do you:

  • Surround yourself with positive role models or negative influencers?
  • Satisfy your needs or try to please everyone else?
  • Set high expectations or settle for mediocrity?
  • Keep your promises or break your commitments?
  • Crave instant gratification or invest in your future?
  • Grumble about things or work to make them better?
  • Live in the present or relive the past?
  • Listen to your conscience or fall victim to temptation?
  • Forgive and forget or harbor anger?
  • Accept personal responsibility or make excuses?

It’s your choice: what to think, how to spend your time, who to be.

The Choice Is Yours

Making a choice requires more than selecting between option A or option B. Some people let things happen; others make things happen. The choice is yours. You can take control of your life in your hands or leave it to fate, the choice is yours.

By definition, a choice is an either-or decision. As such, every time you choose one direction, you’re also choosing not to take an alternate path. In other words, saying “no” to one idea enables you to say “yes” to another.

Your view of the world can significantly impact the choices that you make. The fact is, we are blinded by filters that distort our thinking process. Be aware of these filters and the impact they have on your decision making.

Do you view the glass as half-full or half-empty? I hope you said “neither” — it’s never good to see the world through a single filter. The fact is, every gear in your car does something different. What would happen if you got stuck in neutral? The same can be said of the way that you view things. How do you see the world?

Unfortunately, we often fall victim to “thinking traps” that influence our feelings and impact our behavior. It’s not a matter of lacking intelligence, but rather of being blinded by a filter that distorts our thinking process. For example, if you wake up thinking that today’s going to be awesome, you’ll likely be happier and more productive than if you fear that problems are lurking around every corner. If you look for problems hard enough, you’re bound to find one.

The key is to know how you see the world and to manage it accordingly.

Do you put first things first or treat everything as a priority? If you treat everything on your plate equally, you won’t have adequate time or resources to address the important things.

Choices are easy. The tough part is living with them. While some of your decisions have short-term consequences, others will shadow you for life. That’s why it’s important to achieve a balance between your short-term desires and your long-term goals.

Some days you’ll make good choices; other times you won’t. That’s life. It’s important to accept responsibility for your decisions rather than shifting the blame to others. Accepting responsibility will instill humility, boost self-reliance, and emphasize the importance of making good choices.

However, always remember that not to decide is to decide. If you don’t take the bull by the horns, the decision will be made for you. You can’t shirk from your responsibility. It is your choice.

Your Life Is Determined by the Sum of the Choices That YOU Make

The future you get depends on the choices you make. Period. No one’s going to force you to go to the gym, invest in your personal growth, or save for retirement. Additionally, you can choose to be an honest person, surround yourself with positive role models, and live a healthy lifestyle. Or you can choose an alternative path. The upshot is, you are bound by the consequences of your choices. It’s your life; own it.

Your most important asset

One of the choices that you make each day is determining how to spend your time. The truth is, we all have 24 hours each day. Do you spend your time on things that matter most to you, or do you squander it and lack enough time in the day like most people?  The fact is, you begin each morning with a blank canvas. It’s your life. You choose what you make of it. You can craft it as you like.

Most people squander their time in doing major in minors of life. They spend pounds (valuable time) in saving pennies(a little money). Then they run short of time and keep harping on the same old string that they don’t have time. They fail to understand that they are wasting their time in telling this thing to others because nobody has any solution to this problem.

If someone complains in public that he doesn’t have enough money to buy his necessities then what will be people’s reaction? They will label him as inefficient, incapable, unintelligent, lowly employed, poor and with many more adjectives for being poor. Actually, those who complain that they don’t have enough time are in other words complaining like this fellow only. They are also poor by all standards and should be treated like those who don’t have money.

So always have time on your side to exercise more choices in your life. It’s your life.

Change Someone’s Life and You May End Up Changing Yours

Do you remember a person who made a major impact on your life? Your mom, dad, brother, sister, teacher, coach or neighbor. There are many people who make positive as well as negative changes in us for our lifelong learning.

Someone who gave you a big opportunity in your job, business or profession or your first sales job.

When you think about that person you become indebted to him forever. You pray for his well-being and long life to God.

Most of the people we come across in our life are doing their hustle. May be their jobs, business or professions but what they do to us by their advice makes them stand out of the rest. A teacher building your dreams, encouraging you to become great in life instead of disparaging you. A parent extending their every help for your life advancement. A neighbor wishing for your success in exams, someone helping pay your fees for education.

Pay for somebody’s education, donate blood to someone, say words of encouragement to someone to make his day.

Say words of encouragement to a traffic policeman who is standing whole day in scorching heat with attention on a road crossing listening to horns and imbibing the smoke of your vehicles. He is doing a grueling job and a few words of compassion can make his day.

Express empathy for someone handicapped. Help someone blind or handicapped to cross the road. Encourage a girl child to go to school.

The words you tell a child to become something big in life may change their life.

The power of your appreciation or depreciation

When Victor Serebriakoff was 15 his school teacher labeled him a dunce and with this label, he kept doing various jobs for the next 17 years and acted like a dunce.

At 32 a test revealed that he had an IQ of 161. And suddenly he was a hit guy. He completely transformed himself into an intellectual and wrote books, secured patents in his name, he went on to become chairman of the International Mensa Society.

Did he suddenly get a super brain doze? No. But when he came to know about his IQ he started thinking like that and his subconscious transformed him likewise.

It is true you are what you think. So mind it you don’t know who is going to turn tomorrow into a Victor Serebriakoff.

Don’t allow somebody to label you a dunce because it is sure you are not one. Also, don’t worry if your IQ is not 161. You may be having something else in place of a super IQ. Sachin had cricket passion, Bill Gates had a computer knack, Beethoven had a music acumen, Amitabh Bachchan had an acting talent and so on.

You find out, what is your Knack?

Words work miracles.

A gentleman was in a hurry at a railway station to catch the morning local train. He was alighting staircase in a hurry. He saw a boy sitting at the platform and he thought something and threw two dollars in the pot with the boy and hustled to catch the train. But instantly came back to the boy an picked up 4 pencils from his glass and told him I thought I should take my pencils after all you are also a businessman and rushed again to board the train.

After some days he was in a get together where a young boy came up to him and wished him saying, “Sir good morning, do you recognize me?” He said no. The boy introduced himself, “I am the same beggar who was begging at the station that day but you came and gave me two dollars and took pencils telling me that after all, I was also a businessman. Those pencils were also given to me by a child who had no money to give me.

That day my soul humiliated me and I woke up to start my small business of selling magazines on the train and today I am also a businessman and I have my own newspaper vending business. I am thankful to you that you awakened me that day.”

So a beggar turned into a businessman because somebody called him a businessman. Many times our soul gets hurt or inspired by the words we hear from people about us.

Therefore, in addition to our help we do to others by our money, time and resources a great help to people maybe our words for them. If we encourage and appreciate people for their work then they try to live that and in turn start doing good work. Everyone in this world has something good in them. We can always find that good in people for their betterment and tell them.

WRITE YOUR DREAMS TO REALISE THEM FASTER

Everywhere we are told to write our dreams, goals clearly. Why? There is a clear reason behind it.

If the story of your life was a novel and you, the novelist, how would you write your story? After all, even in real life, you are the author of your own story. Imagine if you took that metaphor literally, and started listing everything you’ve ever wanted in life, writing those dreams and goals down on paper.

This article will explain why that’s not simply a crazy metaphorical idea. In fact, pinpointing your dreams this way can actually help bring them closer to reality.

Perhaps you don’t know about the amazing change that can happen to your life once you start writing these dreams down.

Writing down exactly what it is you want.

Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire and begin at once, whether you ready or not, to put this plan into action.

– Napoleon Hill

Most people’s goals in life are only vague ideas. Their goals may be,  usually to make more money, to get a better job, to have someone to love or to have the chance to travel. Whatever it is?

While you might be in this category of a person with vague dreams, not written anywhere, it’s important to be precise if you want any of your dreams to turn into a reality.

Being specific means going from saying “I want more money” to saying, “I want to earn $10000 to open a restaurant.”

When it comes to a relationship, you have to be specific in the type of person you want. List out all the details like whether you want someone who’s funny and kind, or whether or not they want kids.

These specifics sound extreme at first, but in order to actually reach your goals, you have to have a definite plan to work toward, so you don’t get side-tracked. If you want to go to someplace in the city which you have never been to before what you do? You take help of Google Maps and trace a path beforehand or online navigation and by following that path you reach your destination.

In this small story, there are four things.

First, your desire to go to that place.

Second,  your knowledge of where you have to go, your destination.

Third, your search of the roadmap.

And fourth and last is your journey to that destination until you reach there.

In life also you have to define all these things exactly. Once you know for sure exactly what it is you want, physically write it down on paper.

Writing down our dreams is no new idea — many incredibly successful stories started this way.

Actor and comedian Jim Carrey was a born entertainer. In school, his teacher let him perform his comedy routines for his classmates at the end of the day in exchange for being quiet during class. Carrey used to wear his tap shoes to bed, just in case his parents needed cheering up in the middle of the night.

When he was young, Carrey’s father lost his job and the whole family had to live in a camper van on a relative’s lawn. They all took jobs working as janitors and security guards at a nearby factory – Carrey himself worked an eight-hour shift straight after school.

Carrey got his start as a stand-up comedian at 15, wearing a yellow suit that his mother sewed, Carrey’s debut bombed so badly that it gave him doubt whether he could make a living as an entertainer. Fortunately, he persevered and gained popularity as a stand-up comedian. A year later, he dropped out of high school to concentrate on his career.

At 19, Carrey headed to Hollywood – but like many young actors trying to make it in Tinseltown, he found that success was elusive. In 1985, a broke and depressed Carrey drove his old beat-up Toyota up the Hollywood hills. There, sitting overlooking Los Angeles, he daydreamed of success. To make himself feel better, Carrey wrote himself a check for $10 million for “acting services rendered,” post-dated it 10 years and kept it in his wallet.

The check remained there until it deteriorated but Carrey eventually made it: he earned millions for movies like Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and Dumb and Dumber. When his father passed away in 1994, Carrey slipped the check in the casket to be buried.

Football player Lou Holtz didn’t just have one goal—he had 107 and wrote each and every one of them down on paper. He did this in 1966 when he was 28 years old and unemployed. His goals included meeting the president of the United States, coaching a football team, and making a hole-in-one in golf.

Amazingly, 50 years later, Holtz has fulfilled nearly every one of these goals. On his website, there are pictures of him shaking hands with not just the president, but the Pope too, as the coach of the football team at the University of Notre Dame and winning the 1988 national championship, and, as for his luck at golf, he’s managed to hit not one, but two hole-in-one shots – so far.

When your goals are very specific like this, it unlocks so many opportunities for success. You still may have some doubts about how this can truly work, so let’s look closer at the power of putting pen to paper.

The Reticular Activating System

See if this sounds familiar: your mother calls to tell you she’s finally bought herself a new car –a red  Hyundai Creta. This surprises you —you’ve never heard of this car before.

The next day, though, as you’re driving around your city, you start to see Hyundai Creta everywhere, and most of them are red, just like your mom’s! How is this possible?

Your brain has a filter, known as the Reticular Activating System, or RAS, and this is it at work.

The RAS is what sharpens our attention, and it can be primed to notice or ignore certain things.

New parents are super familiar with the RAS working all the time, which allows them to sleep through traffic noise, and yet still wake up at the slightest cry from their baby. This is due to their RAS being biologically focused to hear when their child is in need.

The same brain function is working when you hear your name called in a crowded room at a loud party. Even though you’re surrounded by all sorts of loud noises, you’ll notice this specificity and all of a sudden, a conversation that was just background noise a second ago will enter your attention.

The RAS can also help you to reach the goals you’ve written down. When you write your goals down, clearly defined on paper, you actually prime your brain and it begins its unconscious work toward your goal.

Once your goals are written down, your RAS will constantly be on the lookout for anything that might help you reach this goal, from messages to information. So, once you have it down on paper that you want enough money to open a restaurant, you’ll be primed to overhear someone at a party who’s talking about the fact that they used to invest in restaurants, which is something you wouldn’t have noticed otherwise. Somewhere you will find a bank manager who can loan you money for opening your restaurant. This is very strange for those people who never dare to dream and it is very familiar to dreamers. That’s why they dream newer and newer dreams every day because they know that there is RAS and subconscious mind to work for them like their google map to show them the direction.

Writing down your fears as well as your goals is a great way to acknowledge them and start working past them.

The RAS is a helpful part of our subconscious mind, working to get us closer to our goals.

Alongside our goals, though, we often have unconscious fears dormant inside us as well, and, by doing the same thing as with our goals, and writing these fears down on paper, it becomes easier to recognize and conquer what obstacles may stand in your way.

For aspiring writers, the unconscious fear that might stop them from writing their book is the fear of being rejected by a publisher. Due to this fear, many writers will only send their work to a small number of publishers and then give up hope when those two or three rejection letters come back. Because of this, they’ll start to believe they aren’t good enough right from the start and think that they should stop trying to be a writer.

If they’d realized from the beginning, though, that they had a fear of rejection, this running away from their goal might not have happened. If they had recognized this early on, they’d know that a few rejection letters is really only a small setback. They would also have in the back of their minds that esteemed writers like JK Rowling received dozens of rejection letters before her first book was picked up.

Writers aren’t the only ones who have a fear of rejection and criticism. So many people have those exact same fears, and that’s the reason a lot of us put our goals aside. When we ignore our fears, it sits inside us, where it festers and takes over, keeping us from being creative.

Writing these fears down can ensure this doesn’t happen, but you have to be as precise as possible in recognizing your fear so that they start to lose the power they have. Once you start to do this, you’ll start to truly see your fears for what they are —obstacles, and be able to work past them from the start.

Summary

With the right mindset, no dream is too big. Too often, we let ourselves be too scared to actually accomplish what it is we want. These fears, though, can be put aside by taking time to write down what it is we truly desire and using these methods to unlock our powerful subconscious mind to set us down the right path. The simple act of writing our goals down is a powerful one that is actually quite similar to praying and can turn us into a magnet for the things we most desire from life.

Actionable advice:

Start your day off by writing down your intentions.

Each morning or on the eve, it’s smart to take some time to write down what it is you want to accomplish that day or the next day.  It’s not a to-do list, and shouldn’t contain things such as doing laundry or going shopping. The purpose is to guide you emotionally and spiritually through your day, such as having the goal to “be the best mother I can be.”Starting your day with intention will help you to stay grateful and positive as you move throughout your day.

The power of One

Never think the world is large enough what if you don’t make a decision or not make a noise against something. There are times when each one of us has to make a decision. And we don’t make a decision and sit back waiting for others to start — we wait who else takes the decision first for us to follow him.

But what if we could stand and take the decision and become the first to do so. It would have been better if other people also stood with us and took decisions. But nobody in this world wants to bell the cat. There are very few people who stand up and say ‘NO’ to the tormentor, to their inhibitions, which they fear and sit back inactive waiting for others to come forward.

Think what difference it would have made in the society if we all stood to the negative people to stop sabotaging our minds by their negativity, to the advertisements claiming fake benefits for making big money, to the public figures who act in such fake advertisements for their incomes. The impact would have been astounding.

There is power in numbers. If one stands up to start, another may second him and a third one may yet get a fourth one to stand up to the cause. Sitting back and not taking decisions will not make our day.

As Steve Jobs said, “The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.”

Never underestimate your power to make a change in this world.

An old man, walking on a beach one morning, noticed a young woman walking and bending down every now and then, picking up fish and throwing them back into the sea. The man asked her why she was doing this. She replied that the poor fish had got washed ashore at night, and would probably die in the morning sun without water.

“But this beach stretches for miles and there are probably a million fish on the shore,” countered the old man. “How will your effort make any difference?” The young woman looked at the fish in her hand, flung it into the water and said, ‘Well, it sure made a difference to that one.’

In our lives and careers, we regularly come across such fish moments, seemingly insurmountable problems, where our individual contribution to the solution seems small, almost trivial. Be it corruption, tax evasion, donation, blood donation, raise voice against the injustice, Tyranny, Freedom of speech and many more. We should raise our voice in all such cases.

The next time that happens to you, your fish moment, remember you could do one of two things. Either shrug your shoulders and say why bother, what difference can it make or take that small step and do your bit.

The beach may be long. There may be millions of fish. But throwing one back means one life saved. You can make a difference!

Every little bit counts. Do your part.

Make decisions frequently. Never think what people will say. People will always say something, whether you do something or not. You are you. When you don’t take decisions often your power becomes dormant and this happens with the whole nations. People don’t take decisions don’t raise voice and tyrants, wrong-doers flourish.

In office meetings executive don’t speak, they feel what people will say? Why me? We don’t speak in front of people in a party or a congregation thinking that we would look foolish.

If you are unaware of the power of one and think you are very small try going to bed with a mosquito in the room. If that small creature has so much power then how do you underestimate yourself?

The power of one has never been denounced or less in this world. There have been instances when a single man has stood the tyranny, discrimination or apartheid being meted out to a community, race or a particular country people. We will take here three stories of such type which show us that the power of one is not less than a whole nation.

Mahatma Gandhi

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, who was also known as Mahatma, “Great Soul”, Gandhi, was a hero, as well as a political and spiritual leader of India. Known for his ascetic lifestyle – he often dressed only in a loincloth and shawl – and devout Hindu faith. Later in 1893, Gandhi went to South Africa to work and found that there was a lot of prejudice towards Indians. He began his activism as an Indian immigrant in South Africa in the early 1900s, and in the years following World War, I became the leading figure in India’s struggle to gain independence from Great Britain. Last but not least, the non-violent Indian Independence Movement was the all-time heroic deed led by Gandhi. This movement was accomplished in 1947 and India got freedom from Britishers. The three main qualities that define Gandhi as a hero are his strong leadership, simplicity, and bravery.

Rosa Parks

By refusing to give up her seat to a white man on a Montgomery, Alabama, city bus in 1955, black seamstress Rosa Parks (1913—2005) helped initiate the civil rights movement in the United States. The leaders of the local black community organized a bus boycott that began the day Parks was convicted of violating the segregation laws. Led by a young Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the boycott lasted more than a year—during which Parks not coincidentally lost her job—and ended only when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that bus segregation was unconstitutional. Over the next half-century, Parks became a nationally recognized symbol of dignity and strength in the struggle to end entrenched racial segregation.

Nelson Mandela

Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela ( 1918- 2013) was a nonviolence anti-apartheid activist, politician, and philanthropist who became South Africa’s first black president from 1994 to 1999. Becoming actively involved in the anti-apartheid movement in his 20s, Mandela joined the African National Congress in 1942. For 20 years, he directed a campaign of peaceful, nonviolent defiance against the South African government and its racist policies. Beginning in 1962, Mandela spent 27 years in prison for political offenses. In 1993, Mandela and South African President F.W. De Klerk were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts to dismantle the country’s apartheid system. For generations to come, Nelson Mandela will continue to be a source of inspiration for civil rights activists worldwide.

Never underestimate your power. You are not alone, you have with you, GOD.

Same is with us. We don’t speak good even for a good person. The latest is a political party of India. The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) of India had only 116 seats in Lok Sabha before 2014 but one man, Narendra Modi(a.k.a, Namo) took the reins of the party in this hand and united his party.

He won elections in 2014 winning 282 seats in Lok Sabha and became Prime Minister of India. He worked hard to overhaul the policies of the nation, take new initiatives, provide amenities to the nation’s poor. He took big financial decisions. He boosted the image of India in front of the International community. He traveled across the world to woo the investors to invest in this country.

People spoke foul of him but he kept doing his work for the nation and all those naysayers were silenced in recent elections of 2019 when his party won 303 seats with a thumping majority in Lok Sabha and he again became Prime Minister of India for another 5 years to run the government.

He worked in silence and let his success stories make the noise for him. People tried to malign his image by allegations of corruption against him but they themselves were sullied by the nation’s electorate and he remained a winner. It is because you can fool few people for few days not 150 crore people for years. When people saw his work they voted him to power again. Think and work like Namo and your results will also be likewise.

If you raise your voice, someone, somewhere will stand to listen to you; just shout in full pitch against the wrong.

Stand up for your dream, for your purpose.

Same is with us. We don’t speak good for a good person. The latest is a political party of India. The condition of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) was not good before 2014 but one man, Narendra Modi(a.k.a, Namo) took the reins of the party in this hand and united his party.

Live a purposeful life

Everyone is born on this earth for a reason. What’s yours?

Have you found your purpose in life? Your why?

If not, find your purpose of life and pursue it with passion? There are millions of people who don’t know the purpose of their life and living lives without meaning.

They themselves are not excited about their life.

When somebody asks them, “How is life”, their reply is very trite like, It just goes”, which means they are biding their time here.

Such people can neither serve anybody better not they do something worthwhile in their own lives. They are vegetating their lives.

We get life once, but once is enough if we live it right. Do something great in your life so that “an aha” instead of an “oh no” signifies it.

Believe in the unseen, impossible and insecure.

Dr. Wayne W Dyer said,

“You will see it when you believe it.”

It is your belief and faith in the unseen that will convert it into reality. Most people who succeeded in life big time had a bigger than life dream and a faith that they would succeed and they succeeded.

Initially, everything seems impossible until you do it, start it and prove that it can be done. Don’t expect that a fine morning you will get up and find yourself successful. Success doesn’t happen by accident but it is a cumulative result of your failures in life for realizing your dream.

There is no success without a dream and faith. Everything big takes time in realization. Be it a child, big business, a profession or a building or a nation. Nothing happens overnight.

Your conscious mind works on your beliefs and makes only those things realities which you believe. Think carefully, and try to write 10 things where you succeeded and you had no belief in those things.

You will not find even a single such thing.  It is because of this reason that some people are rich, some poor; some happy, some miserable; some beautiful, some ugly and some successful and some failures. Their lives are mirror images of their inside. Whatever they see themselves within they are exact copies, without.

Poor and Rich people, both are manifestations of their own creations. We are sculptors of our lives. We create our outside world with our beliefs inside. Rich people see themselves rich inside them and poor people see themselves poor inside them in their beliefs. Change your beliefs and change your world.

One mammoth eighteen-foot block of marble had been lying around for several years. In fact, it had been around long before Michelangelo was even born.

Some great artists, including Leonardo da Vinci, were invited to create something from that slab of marble. They all looked at it and dismissed it as flawed and worthless. Nothing could come of it, they all felt.

Several years later, Michelangelo got to work on that ‘flawed and worthless’ piece of marble, and went on to create a magnificent work of art of 18 feet height, later called ‘David’.

Apparently, while he was working on David, a little boy went up to Michelangelo and asked him why he was banging away at the rock of marble, and hitting it so hard.

“Young man,” said Michelangelo. “There’s an angel inside that rock. I am just setting him free.”

If you think about it, we are all like that rock of marble. There’s a genius inside each of us. Only we have to set it free by carving ourselves. Remember, it’s never too late to become what you might have been.

Dream big, reach for the stars

Never think small because small dreams discourage you, make you mediocre even if you achieve them and big dreams make you magnanimous when you achieve them.

Always be proud of your achievements, but also take pride in the way that you achieve them. Your dreams are your motivation, they move you in life. They keep you alive. People who have no dreams are like dead people whose funeral has been delayed to be carried out for some time till they actually die.

“Hold fast to your dream for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly.”

–Langston Hughes, American poet.

Nothing in this world is created without a dream. Whatever we see today here is because somebody dreamt of it someday and it was created. We create everything with our dreams. Everything is a dream, realized.

Remember, pursuing your dreams is a marathon, not a sprint.

Whatever you want in life, you will have to create first in your dreams. Whatever it is, start dreaming about it, create it exactly as you want it in reality, in your dreams. Your mind has an inbuilt system to make it a reality in your life; you only need to love your dream like a mother loves her child. You have to cling to it like a nascent child clings to her mother until it becomes a reality. Visualize it vividly in your mind, feel it, smell it, touch it as if it is real.

When you visualize something vividly, you actually enliven it.

Learn to believe in your dream and it will be a reality in front of you. It is only a matter of time. Just hold fast to your dream.

Beware! It’s easy to have big ambitions, but dreams, unlike eggs, don’t hatch from sitting on them. You have to nurture them to become a reality. The nurturing of dreams is done by working for them with all might.

How much work you have to do to realize your dreams?

Someone has said, “Pray as if everything depends on God and work as if everything depends on you.”

The above clearly defines the amount of work to be done for making your dreams a reality.

Victor Frankl said,

“Everyone has his own specific vocation or mission in life;everyone must carry out a concrete assignment that demands fulfillment. Therein he cannot be replaced, nor can his life be repeated, thus, everyone’s task is unique ashis specific opportunity to implement it.”

If you have faith in God, then pray with all your might to him, to bless you in realizing your dreams but it is the first part only.

The second and final part is, to have faith in God and prove to him by your work that you are committed to your dream and will indefatigably work for your dream, come what may, you will not quit. If you can prove to God that you have only one way and that is to live your dreams, then only he will bestow upon you his blessings to realize your dream!

No, doubt, Man proposes, God disposes. But before disposing of, he takes care of the fact that dreams of committed people are not thrown in a dustbin.

Make good choices

Often, in life, make good choices because your life will grow to be the sum of those choices. Your choices are your building blocks. You make your beliefs, your dreams with your choices.

If somebody chose to become a Doctor instead of an Engineer, he became a Doctor because by his choice he put himself on the path to becoming a doctor.

If you make a choice of becoming successful, then you put yourself on that path.

Whatever you are today, it is the creation of your own choice. The choice is the greatest gift given to you by God for creating your own world in life. Those who exercise it become what they want to be in their lives, and so those, who don’t.

Do what’s right

Always do what’s right not out of fear of getting caught, but because integrity matters. God gave us all conscience for this purpose. Your conscience is the real sentry on the gates of your choices. Every time you choose something wrong, it will caution you to choose correctly and every time you choose right, it will give you a pat on the shoulder in terms of an inner satisfaction and happiness.

Let’s do an experiment for testing your conscience. Take a strong wooden stick, go out of your house and think of hitting a dog with it. Merely a thought of it will activate your conscience and it will forbid you from doing this. Now think opposite that you will go out with a loaf to feed a dog with pampering and your conscience will happily allow you.

Every wrongdoer, sinner, tyrant is cautioned inside himself about his wrongdoing but they become deaf and don’t listen to their inner voice for worldly gains. But remember, if you pretend to not listen to your inner voice and make a wrong choice, then you are accumulating wrong Karma for you. The inexorable Law of Compensation will compensate you, invariably, in the same coin.

Most of our decisions in life are affected by our environment. Our jobs, relations, friends, and finances affect our every decision. We feel that man is the creature of circumstances but Benjamin Disraeli said,

“Man is not the creature of circumstances; circumstances are the creatures of men. We are free agents, and man is more powerful than matter”. Successful people stand up and see whether circumstances are per them or not. If not, they create the circumstances as required by them.

Be yourself

You may be imperfect but be yourself. You have to live with yourself for the rest of your life. If you live your life in terms of others, your life becomes the puppet of somebody else. They control your life, your actions. Don’t let anybody control your life; make you live your life per their conditions. You will regret, such life when you leave this planet before your reincarnation. You will repent having lived life in terms of others because you could do many things of your own which you couldn’t.

Life is a journey and make it meaningfully. Never let your life become a meaningless journey which you never wanted to make.

Make a difference

Make a difference in people’s lives, not because you expect something in return, but because witnessing their happiness is, by itself, a worthy reward.

You can get everything in your life if you help enough other people to get what they want.—Zig Ziglar

Learn to give in life instead of taking. There are many things in life which you can share with those who are less fortunate than you. Knowledge, money, time, happiness, and hope are some of the things, you can share with others to make difference in their lives.

Swami Vivekananda said,

“If you want to find God, serve man. To reach Narayana you must serve the Daridra Narayans — the starving millions of India….”

Service to mankind is service to God.

You go to temples, churches and other religious places of different faiths. You share your money, time and other belongings there. God is already the richest entity in the world. He possesses everything we see in this world, even your lives are his possessions. He doesn’t require your small offerings. He has said in all scriptures that you should use these things in the service of poor and destitute people. Don’t squander away what you have been given by him for those who don’t require it at all.

Find your happiness

Not by means of seeking more, but by appreciating what you already have. Happiness is not to find what you don’t have, but it is to accept what you already have. Have an attitude of gratitude to open doors for more.

Count your blessings in life. If you start counting blessings, your list will run into miles. But the lists of what you don’t have will be in a few pages. So express gratitude for what you have and don’t concentrate on what you don’t have, else you’ll always be poor and never have enough.

If you are not happy with what you have today you will never be happy even with more riches. Learn to be happy with whatever you have today. It doesn’t mean not to strive for better in life but it means work not unhappily and greedily as if you will be happy only when you get those millions. Be goal-oriented, but happy with the present possessions. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush and you may lose the one in your hand in a race to get the two in the bush.

Fake it till you make it

You have two minds in your brain, Conscious, and Subconscious. The conscious mind is analytical and uses reasoning for everything while the subconscious is subjective and is servile to the conscious mind. Whatever our conscious mind will confirm to the subconscious, it will make that the reality before us. Thus our subconscious mind is also a master of our achievements. It is thus our servile master and we have to tame it.

Whatever you focus yourself on or whatever you think most of the time it expands. If you concentrate on success, you will get it and if you concentrate on failure you will also get it. Most people concentrate on failure and they get it. When people start or don’t want to start anything they start with the idea of failure. But when you fill yourself with the idea of your success, whatever it is — wealth, fame, lifestyle, big business or some art— whatever then you make it happen.

You can make this exercise in your visualization. When you visualize your success already achieved, even when you have not achieved it and you act like it has happened for you, it becomes reality within no time. We call it, “Fake it till you make it.” Your subconscious mind can’t differentiate between actual and simulated experiences. Learn to convince your conscious mind that you have achieved your success. Create your success in your thoughts, and it will give a command to your subconscious mind to make it a reality for you.

Your every minute, every moment should show you film of your success, live to you, in the eyes of your mind, and your mind will show you the same film in physical reality when first you see this film in your imagination.

Everything is created twice– says Stephen R Covey, the author of ‘7 Habits of highly effective people’, – first in your mind and then in reality. If you have an obsession for your dreams and goals, then you will succeed without any doubt. The more you visualize your success in your mind the earlier you succeed.

The Roger Bannister Mindset

Before 1954, it was a belief that nobody can run a mile in less than 4 minutes and the best time was credited to Sweden’s Gunder Haegg, who ran the mile in 4 minutes and 1.4 seconds in 1945.  it became a barrier as it was believed that no man could attempt it without causing significant physical harm to his body until one day Roger Bannister, at a field and track event in London, in 1954 physically ran a mile in 3 minutes and 59.4 seconds.

How He did it? He did this miracle by rehearsing in his mind this thing several times such that he made his nervous system to believe that it can be done and thus creating enough reference for his belief. And see, John Landy—an accomplished runner and Roger’s rival, just fifty-six days after Roger smashed the mental barrier, too broke his own mental wall and ran the mile in 3 minutes and 57.9 seconds.

Within next one year of this, 37 other athletes had also done this and in the next one year, 300 other athletes had also done it.

So how this happened? Did the athletes’ bodies suddenly get stronger? Was there new technology to improve the runners’ shoes? Did training methods get enhanced? Did athletes simply try harder?

None of the above, really. It’s just that mental barrier—the self-limiting belief that a mile can’t be run in under four minutes—shattered.

Don’t tell your mind what it can not do

We are all like that and we all have our limiting beliefs about what we can achieve, and what we can’t. Our success is limited by those limiting belief barriers. Even our effort is often restricted by those barriers. We don’t try, because we see those barriers.

Henry Ford was right when he said,” If your mind doesn’t know what it cannot do, it will do that”.

Life is all about breaking mental barriers. Dreaming the impossible dreams.

If you think you can, you can. If you think you can’t you are right.

– Henry Ford.

In yet another example, once a student fell asleep in his tuition class and woke up only when the class was dismissed to find two problems written on the blackboard. He thought it was homework and noted down the problems in a hustle.

Reaching home, he attempted those problems but could not solve. But he Kept on trying those throughout the week and he solved both the problems. When he told the teacher in the class, that he had solved the problems, the teacher and all the students were didn’t believe him as those two problems were written by the teacher on the blackboard for the students to solve but none of the students could solve those problems as both the problems were unsolvable. The teacher had also accepted it. But since that student was sleeping in the class at that time, so his mind didn’t receive that command that these problems cannot be solved, and it did solve the problems.

So your mind can find a solution to anything if it is not told what it can’t do. Also, the things which are seen as impossible in normal circumstances can be done in emergencies.

We have heard of the lifting of whole cars by a mom or a dad when their child was trapped under the car and needed lifting of the car by a few inches. Also, we have heard of stories of face to face real life human fights with lion or tigers to save our life or life of a beloved. How do we define this phenomenon? Even scientists have not been able to give reasons for such supernatural acts of human.

The only explanation for such feats without application of any science is that we are unlimited and our capacities are unlimited. We should believe in this notion and work for our success. It is possible for a man to believe in himself and attempt seemingly impossible things and succeed.

So you need to remove mental barriers. Don’t ever teach or tell your mind what it can not do. Keep your attitude always ready to soar high with I-CAN attitude.

How to monetize YouTube

It’s time to think about your career. Recently you may have stepped into adulthood, by blowing off eighteen wax candles, or you may be about to do so, shortly.

After some years, there will be a hanging question mark over your career from the ceiling of your roof.

Isn’t that true?

And at the same time, isn’t that worrying for you?

But what if I tell you that you can bring an end to all those situations. After all our country has gone through many technological advancements, there are a lot of new career options, that have popped up before us.

The biggest advantage of those options is that they are dependable. And they could provide you with a lot of money if you see them in their right perspective.

Let’s take a glimpse at one of them, which has been a big part of the trend, for quite a long time.

YouTube

YouTube has come out as one of the most popular career choices in the past few years.

The YouTube community has increased exponentially, and that’s where there are things that have turned upside down.

Some of the popular channels such as Mostlysane, etc. have hit the conventions and male chauvinism, with everything they could, and it sets up an excellent example for all of us.

Prajakta Koli’s Mostlysane YouTube channel is an excellent showcase of her achievements and hard work. Reviewing products, gadgets, or even modeling have become very common. But reaching out to the audience is the most important thing, and that’s where marketing steps in.

Running a YouTube channel is as worthy as running a stock market terminal from a cubicle!

But being passionate about something, smoothens up the way, by huge margins.

For aspiring YouTubers who want to run a successful channel, there are some essential things to look forward to.

If you are passionate about dancing, singing, or even acting, then YouTube is one of the best platforms to showcase your talent and reach out to billions of people, with just a single click.

On a small scale, you can start producing and recording content, even with the 6-inch smartphone screen, holding one in your hand, perhaps, right now.

The starting need not be expensive!

You should start with the equipment, you already own, and there isn’t a need for some “definitive professional setup” until you have the money to spend. And spoiler alert, the cameras do cost a lot!

On the other hand, if you record your performance from a smartphone, and upload it over the net, with some minimal editing costs, the whole process would become affordable, and you will not have to cut corners for the price.

And, if you look, then for a start-up, it’s not a bad start. Every business starts on a small scale.

Don’t forget Jeff Bezos’ Amazon, started from a hut; Apple, Google, IBM and, Dell, all started from a garage.

You may still be between well coated four walls, and that’s more than enough.

On YouTube, the next step is to have an AdSense account. Google’s AdSense account will help you in collecting revenue.

Creating an AdSense account isn’t difficult. It’s a small process, with great surprises awaiting, at the other end.

You will be able to customize all the advertisements that fit into your video, and it’s the advertisement, through which all the YouTubers earn money.

Yes, you read it correctly, and likes, shares or subscribers don’t bring you money! It’s the advertisements. And the more the number of times the ad is played, the more money you will earn.

Indirectly, it comes down to the fact that you need viewers to earn money. And that is, directly proportional to the quality and usefulness of the content you produce.

Today, the amount of resources youth have reached out to, is just unbelievable, and even the touch of technological advancements creates an advantage.

Creating your channel, with a logo, and a unique name can be very beneficial in the long run. You can earn some serious money if your channel starts attracting people, and if it reaches out to the targeted audience.

The best part of this career choice is that, if your content is rich in quality and if you are capable enough to keep some eyeballs glued to your video for a significant period, then you will kill the notion of “slim chances of earning money, over YouTube”.

At the same time, you must also take care of the fact that earning money should become the byproduct of your quality content, and it should never be the primary purpose of entering YouTube.

Over some time, I have personally noticed a lot of YouTubers scaling up their channel, after 6-7 years of hard work and miserable failures. But at the moment, they are one of the top YouTubers, across the globe.

Once you get going and are motivated enough to produce content, for an extended period, then you are on the right path, and handling everything shouldn’t be a problem.

Most people give an excuse that there ain’t sufficient opportunities, available out there for them. You never know who might approach you for a collaboration. Big Brands, firms, etc. always keep an eye over influencers and entrepreneurs who are sweating in some creative field. They say,

Work until your idols become your rivals,

and that day nobody knows what will be your value. It may be a next Hotmail or WhatsApp.

Therefore, an idle yet strong thought of uploading your voice, or moves over YouTube can change your life within a second.

You can become a great reviewer or a singer with one of the most melodious voice, or one of the best choreographers on planet Earth. You may have a latent talent, and while reading this text, you may have also realized that YouTube can prove to be an excellent resource for you.

Until a teenager, you wouldn’t have thought of producing content for a platform as great as YouTube and the future is going to be more digital only. Things are changing daily. There is something new every day in this field.

Watching videos was the only square, where all of us fitted adequately.

But being part of this creative cycle, you must remember one thing.

Produce more than what you consume.

That’s the formula, and with that, you can climb the charts!

In a developing country like ours, it’s difficult to trace a path, which wasn’t meant to be traced. And a career, which isn’t followed by many, can question your motivation, and also your heart. But don’t forget that you can yourself become an icon and let others binge watch your content!

Be a brave heart, create an AdSense account, and sit back and enjoy the show called life.
